What are Mycorrhizae?

April 7, 2025 6:14 pm Published by

Mycorrhizae are beneficial fungus which attach to plant roots to form a network which improves the uptake of nutrients available to a plant. Mycorrhizae are incorporated into the Espoma fertilizers to give your plants an extra boost. Mycorrhizae expand the effectiveness of nutrient and water uptake in a plant. These hyphae attach to the root hairs, extending the root structure by nearly two feet, thus extracting more nutrients and water and at a faster rate. They can also store nutrients and water, releasing them when needed.

Rumor has it that we’re open for the season.    Well, it’s true!  We’ve got regular hours now, Monday through Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 10 to 4.   So you can come on in and get the goods you need to get your gardens going.   We are still setting up the garden center so we still look kind of naked out there, but the store is looking good.    Trucks of plant material will begin to roll in real soon and Cindy & Matt the Brit are busy bringing plants up from our growing area.  (Our first truckload comes tomorrow!  Yay!)...
