Hi there fellow gardeners! How can summer be over already???? It’s just not fair! Oh, but we do love the fall season. Time to get excited for change. That’s always invigorating. Mums, ornamental cabbage and kale, ornamental peppers, Montauk Daisies, etc. will be here tomorrow, and the daffodil and tulip bulbs, etc. are heading this way in a week or so (as soon as they get off the boat from the Netherlands, literally). September Newsletter 2021 Yay! It’s September! Wahoo! The cool air makes me want to get out in the garden and pull all those weeds that shot up during the blasting heat… and watch all the bees and butterflies flitting around. It’s summer! Days are long. There’s moisture in the soil once again! And our flowers are happy! We just received a new batch of roses. We now have some very pretty Drift Roses – red and apricot which have been hard to find this season. They are low growing and very floriferous! We also have some climbing roses, too. Remember that deadheading your flowers encourages more color in your garden. By removing spent flowers, the plant can put it’s energy into forming new flowers instead of producing seeds.
